Supporting Food Outreach Program – South Etobicoke

Mar 29, 2022 | 0 comments

Today, Kiwanis Club of Kingsway Humber provided 90 plus sandwiches and juice drinks to help support the homeless and hungry in South Etobicoke. On Tuesday, March 29 Kiwanians Gillian, Stuart, Gabe and Andre made sandwiches and packed each one with a juice drink for early morning delivery to South Etobicoke’s LAMP Community Centre.

Kiwanis was joined by Friend of Kiwanis Anne Wood who baked hundreds of muffins and added oranges.

Before the food program opened this morning there were more than 10 men and women lined up at the side entrance of LAMP’s door when Gillian and Andre drove up with our donations. We were asked, “Is that food for us?” Quickly followed by, “Thank you – it is very cold.’

Staff from LAMP sent the team a thank you text, “Thank you Kiwanis and Anne for all your delicious items for those in need in our community”.

LAMP provides daily food assistance to around 80 clients from 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.
